I have been Chief Executive at The Hanley for 12 years and I love my job. It is a privilege to lead a 160 years old organisation and to help steer it in a progressive way which combines the virtues, traditions and roots of the past with the verve and confidence of a contemporary 21st century business.
As a local, mutual society, we aim to deliver consistently great products and first rate service to our members and customers old and new, without jeopardising the stability of the Society or the security of our investors’ funds.
The Hanley can be innovative without being reckless, and we Scots have a proud tradition of being frugal as well as bold!
I am married to Michelle and have two fantastic teenage children, Grace and Paul. I play golf as a member at Trentham Golf Club and watch football wherever I can even though my playing days have succumbed to too many knee injuries. I am a very keen movie-watcher, with a collection of several hundred favourite films on DVD and my dream job (apart from my current one) would be to replace Barry Norman as Britain’s best film reviewer.
I aim to make my blogs informative, insightful and very personal. I hope you find them worth reading.
